I'm fired up and tired of the way that things have been

Sundays always come so early! I do not like it. I could definitely have slept at least another hour, but alas, I've got to get up and go to work. It shouldn't be too bad today. I'll do all my markets and then I'll have nothing to do for the afternoon, unless I get pulled into working on a project.

Yesterday was a good day. Got up a little later, relaxed for a few hours and wrote out the entirety of the plot for my Monster of the Week game. I had come up with it a while ago, but hadn't sat down and actually plotted it out. One of my players said that she can imagine me feverishly consulting baby name books for some of the names I pull out of my ass. I actually have a baby name book, plus the Fantasy Name Generator, for some of the monster/creature names. I look up a few names before the game, but the rest are picked on the fly. When a new person is about to be introduced, I'm frantically over in the name generator, finding the perfect moniker for this character.

Monster of the Week went well, my players all seemed to have a good time. I had fun coming up with ways to stymie them. The dice were rolling hilariously bad. I mean, just utter dog shit for most of the game. It can be frustrating, but it also can make for some great roleplay and interesting consequences. The last game was very much a boss fight game, so this was a little bit lighter. I mean, still involved the kidnapping of a pregnant Princess of Faerie, but still. It wasn't end of the world consequences.

I'm coming up on the BIG battle with MotW, and I'm trying to figure out how to make it epic. The gates to hell are due to open, spitting the demon Abbadon into their world along with who knows what else. We've been leading up to this for almost a year now, so it's gotta be good. I know what the leadup to it's going to be for the most part. The next game starts the endgame for Abaddon, so that should be fun. I'm a mythology nerd, so it's always fun to start digging in to that.

Then, after game, we got prettied up, and then it was time to get ready for a fancy dinner! We went to the Stoney River Steakhouse, which was very nice. Most of the wait staff were again masking, which I appreciated. The French Onion soup was excellent. I ate it all. Of course, then I was only able to eat about half of my prime rib, which was very very good. They also make au gratin potatoes that are out of this world. Jess had the trio of filet medallions, each with a different sauce or crust. I liked the hollendaise sauce best, which was weird since I don't normally like that. Jess, on the other hand loved the blue cheese crusted one. We split a creme brûlée for dessert. All in all, good date night. It was lovely to get out of the house for a couple of hours.

Okay, time for me to get together for work. Have a wonderful Sunday!
