When I go out, yeah I know I'm gonna be
Day two of Dad duty completed! Half a day to go, and my sister will return and someone else can be the adultier adult for a little while. After two nights of sleeping upstairs with the dog, I am exhausted. I slept, but not terribly well, as I'm not used to a kicking dog trying to shove me out of the bed at 2am. Still, we managed, and it's almost done. Still, not looking forward to trying to work today while I'm sleep deprived.
Yesterday morning, I was productive and made it to Staples to ship the dress I'd sold on Ebay. I was going to do the post office, but they were closed. So, UPS it is. It'll get there by Thursday, so my overenthusiastic buyer should be happy. Then, I made a stop at the pharmacy to pick up some prescriptions. All in all, I felt productive. Then, it was home to sit and deal with a fussy old man. About four, I went and laid down for a little while because I was getting a little overstimulated.
After consideration, I've decided that I don't really like the dress I bought. I did not realize that it was a wrap dress, and those tend to gape at the boobs for me. It's very pretty, but not my style. So, the search continues. I think I'll probably go to Torrid and try on a few things to find something I really love. I'm kind of hoping that I can find something pretty, but not too fancy, so I can wear it to work that Thursday after we get home, as well. I'm definitely going to be bopping around in my nightshirts the week leading up to that in order to protect the tattoo. I have a couple of pairs of capri leggings that cane be pushed up to my knee the day I go to do laundry. It might be slightly difficult doing this in February, but we'll manage. Hopefully, there's not snow. That could complicate things.
Youtube continues to mess with my Disney plans. I was all locked in, knew which restaurants I wanted to do, and then a video about the Boma buffet comes up. It would require a bit of rejiggering of our Animal Kingdom day, but the food looked amazing. So, see ya, Sanaa, hello Boma. I've never had African food, so, this is exciting. Plus, we'll get to try the Zebra Domes. They're only open for breakfast and dinner, so we may be starting the Animal Kingdom a touch later. Jess'll be happy not to have to get up too early, I'm sure.
Two more days until I can book all my dining. This time Tuesday morning, I'll know if we were able to get everything! I started out by booking the room over a year ago, so to see double digits on my Countdown to the Mouse app is very exciting. I really cannot wait.
I went to Disney when I was 3, so almost 47 years ago, and I don't really remember much of it, just snapshots in my brain, and some cute family stories. (3 yr old me was a little smartass. I informed a man in the Hall of Presidents that he was fat and bald, and when told to apologize, I informed him that I was very sorry that he was fat and bald.) I have no interest in the Hall of Presidents for this trip, since I don't want to see the Orange Monstrosity in there.
Apparently, Splash Mountain is going to close three weeks before we get there. I'm a little sad that I won't get to ride it, but I'm also very glad that they're going to replace it with something cool. Song of the South was a horribly racist movie, and it's kind of fucked up that it's taken them to 2023 to finally pull the plug. Replacing it with Tiana's Bayou Adventure is a much better and more inclusive idea. We're just going to have to go back in 2025 to see it!
Okay, time for me to get myself ready for work. Everyone have a wonderful Sunday!
