Upon a sea where the mystic moon
Ah, Friday! Day of rest! And, depending on whether I actually build my desk, day of hard labor. I really want to, but I'm a little sore from going on a building spree yesterday. We shall see. I probably will, because I'm kind of itching to have it built. It's just so pretty and classy! I will look professional as fuck behind it. Of course, if I do get it built, the first thing it will be actually used for is D&D, which seems appropriate.
I also need to take down some pictures of my mother's in the room. Koalas are not my thing, and there's three giant framed chlamydia monkeys in there. I'm more of a primary colors splashed on canvas kind of person. Deep down, I'm a two year old when it comes to art. (seriously, did you know the majority of koalas in the wild have chlamydia? It's freaky as fuck.)
Of course, after saying primary colors, I went looking and ended up getting this.. It's not quite like the other art in my office, but I like it.
Yesterday, I put together the Billy bookcase from IKEA for my office, which was surprisingly easy. Then, I put together our nightstand from Walmart which was a horror show. The bookcase went right together, and within an hour I had a very handsome set of shelves for next to my new desk. The nighstand was just impossible. Holes were drilled weirdly so that the cam lock would slide too far in, the hardware was shit, and snapped as I was trying to put it together. As a result, we have a box, instead of having a drawer. It's deeply annoying. I should have just bought it from IKEA, but there was a $40 price difference. In this case, I totally got what I paid for. Oh well, next time we have a dumpster, this will go bye bye and we'll get a Trofast or something and stain it.
Tomorrow is a busy day, as we have to go to the Russian food festival to pick up our carryout order, and then we have a game at 2. We're starting on a new module, so I need to find some time today to prep a bit. I've read through it for the most part, but it's got multiple endings, so I need to choose which villain I want the baddie to be. I have a bit of an idea, I think.
Okay, my desk is just sitting there mocking me, so I may start unboxing it. Probably going to need Jess to help me muscle parts of it, because of course, I had to have the heirloom hard wood desk. I am going to put on some pants and get myself together. Have a wonderful Friday, everyone!
