Am I original?
Time for another morning? Ew. Oh well, at least after today, I'm off for three days. On Monday, I had texted the people who are supposed to be doing our gas line, since it's supposed to rain tomorrow, asking if they were going to still do it, but they haven't texted me back, so no clue whatsoever. It's starting to piss me off, I've gotta say.
So, as I posted yesterday, I did not get the job. Apparently, I wasn't "confident" enough. The hiring manager also told me that if she had four positions, instead of three, I'd have been the fourth, which is kind of a bullshit thing to say. I was really sad yesterday, now I'm just kind of annoyed. She even sent me a LinkedIn Learning video on how to be more confident. I really wish they had just said that they knew who they wanted before they did interviews, as usual.
After all that, I worked for a while longer, then gave up around 2:30 and used my last two hours of sick time to leave early. I made good use of it, going to get Dad's prescription. While I was driving the car around, the check engine light went off, so it was just a loose gas cap and being low on gas that caused it. I'm so grateful not to have a repair bill this week.
Then, we carted our mattress downstairs and unrolled it and got it set up. Right now, it's just on a blanket on the floor, but the new base comes on Sunday and we'll heave it up on there. We tried it out last night. It's very comfortable, but it felt a little like camping out. The sound is much louder from upstairs, so we're getting a sound machine to deaden that a little, and maybe some acoustic tiles for the wall, especially on the steps downstairs.
Once we put dad to bed, we went back down and snuggled in. The kitty was a wee bit confused at the humans being at ground level in the middle of the basement instead of in their room, but she figured it out and came to visit a couple of times during the night. Then around five she came an laid on my stomach and fell asleep. I felt like a monster moving her when I had to get up.
Today they will come and get the dumpster, and having our driveway back will be lovely. Jess was an absolute beast in getting things out of the house. It looks so much better, and there's more room to move around.
Okay, gonna get myself together for work. Everyone have a lovely Wednesday!
