Can’t stop you know we’ll never give it up

Well, it's definitely ragweed season. I have been so congested over the last couple of weeks. Not like actively ill, just an increase in overall stuffiness, accompanied by itchy ears. It's really fucking annoying. I'm pleased that I don't get the full allergy mess, but I'd almost rather that? At least then there'd be an obvious reason for feeling kind of cruddy. This is just like "Oh, your head will be stuffy, you're going to be clearing your throat constantly from postnasal drip and you're going to feel run down for a few weeks." I appreciate the itching ears, so I know it's still allergies. Otherwise, I might have been burning through our Covid tests.

Work was boring yesterday. Got through all my work in the morning, and spent the rest of the day doing not a whole lot. Fortunately, J. was back, so I had someone to chat with. Spent a good chunk of the day on Discord on my phone chatting with people there, too.

Then, about mid-day, I got an email from a company I've bought TTRPG games from before that they were launching a kickstarter for their newest game: Apocalypse Keys. It looked like it was right up my alley, so I backed it. They had a sample PDF available right away, so I spent a good chunk of the day reading up on that. I have not gotten all the way through it yet, but it looks cool. It uses a variant of the Powered by the Apocalypse game system, which is the same as Monster of the Week, but it seems like it has some extra mechanics to get used to.

I don't really have time to do even a one shot over the next few weeks, so I have some time for things to percolate and come up with a good game.

It's funny, I was talking with friends about wanting to run a game set in Seanan McGuire's Indexing universe. I still do, but this will scratch the itch to start with. I just want a game of seriously fucked up fairy tales trying to encroach on the real world to write their happily ever afters, no matter who it hurts.

Today shall be another boring day. I have my reports to do in the morning, but they won't take me long, and then I will sit and probably read some more. Anything that comes in after noon will be left for working in the office so I'm not just sitting there. I do have an ED&I meeting in the afternoon, so that'll eat a little time up, even if it means being on camera.

Okay, time for me to get myself together and consider more coffee. Everyone have a wonderful Wednesday!
