All the records are playing and my heart keeps saying
Ugh. It is way too early to be vertical. The cat woke me up early and demanded attention and food, so I hauled out of bed before my alarm. My brain and body are not impressed with this idea. I was asleep when the kitty decided to buzz me repeatedly, so I have to wait the half hour from the Rybelsus before I can have coffee. And before I can take my pills, too. I try to remember to do that first, so I don't forget.
Today, I shall probably have work to do, for the morning hours at least. I'm not sure if J was able to get the project done on Thursday, so I may still have that, as well. It'll be nice to have something to do for a few hours either way. I mean, the orders from the project are from June, so it's not like they're going to get any less done waiting for us to do them.
I have refined my powerpoint presentation a little more, though it still needs some help. I had to beg out of a powerpoint tutorial last night because I was exhausted and headachey, and probably wouldn't have been able to pay attention very well. Fortunately the fan who offered to help me was kind enough to agree to reschedule. I need to add some pictures and graphics, and there are a few tweaks I want to add, but aside from that, I think the bones of the presentation are in place. I've solicited a few tips from my fellow players, and need to add that feedback, too. I switched it from Google Sheets to actual Powerpoint, which I'm better at using. Downside, it means I'll have to re-upload whenever I want to show anyone the content.
One thing I did to was simplify it a bit. I put the subject there and left the stuff I want to talk about off of it. Originally, I had all that on the slide, and I figure that would just lead to me reading the slide word for word, and that's kind of boring. Plus, I do have a co-mod, so I need to leave her room to talk.
I'm hoping we're done Witchlight soon after the con so I can run a couple of one-shots for any new players who join the server off this. I'm not expecting a ton, but each con I pimp it at, we get a few.
Yesterday was a relatively busy day. We had D&D in the morning, the pharmacy and dispensary in the afternoon and then I cooked dinner. Dinner turned out better than I expected. I had thinly sliced pork chops, which I used to make little roll ups with bacon. They were delicious, and I will definitely make them again. Next time, I want to add some mozzarella, spinach and sweet red peppers to the center for extra flavor. I think that would be very good.
I love the dispensary we've been going to. They have a fucking drive thru. Seriously, drive thru pot is the best invention. It's so fucking convenient. The bud-tenders are really nice as well. It still boggles my mind a little that it's just so easy. You look online and browse the various strains and types of weed they have, then you just...order it online like you're ordering groceries. Then, you go hit the drive thru, and you have pot. It's surreal, and Maryland only has medical marijuana. If recreational passes, it'll be even easier! I was 28 before I tried pot, because I didn't know any of the right people in school. I don't actually use it now, because I cannot for the life of me find IKEA's current drug policy for medical states, and I feel like asking is just begging to be drug tested over and over.
D&D was a lot of fun, as we finished the Death House from Curse of Strahd. It was a lot of fun, and I enjoy playing with Jess' friends. Next up, we shall see what we're going to play. There was discussion around Descent to Avernus, but I don't know if that's still the plan. If they're amenable, I'd like to get one or two more people into the game, just to make it easier.
Okay, I suppose it's time to get my shit together so I'm ready for work. I don't really want to do the work today, but I shall. Have a wonderful Sunday everyone!
