'Cause after all, you do know best
Another work week in the books, and now I can relax. I don't have anything planned for today until our D&D pickup game at 7. Just relaxing, and I guess somewhere in there I'll cook dinner. Probably won't be anything exciting, though. Just chicken.
Yesterday in the office, I kept mostly busy, but the day still seemed to drag. I swear, I don't think coming back in the office is working well for the company. Every Thursday, there's at least 3 people calling out, in addition to the people who take off. It's just bad. We're short staffed every single day that we go in. Otherwise, apparently absences are down, but then it comes time to go in the office, and it's just horrible. I don't expect to improve as the weather gets colder, either. It's nearly impossible to get a Thursday off, because people are burning their PTO to avoid coming in.
As a result of half the team being out, I bounced from thing to thing like a goddamned super ball. One minute I was doing my reports, then I was doing Load Quality Reports, then I was doing someone else's market report. Then, I was doing inbox. I was jack of all trades yesterday. About the only thing I didn't do was Inventory. On the plus side, I didn't have to pretend that I was busy. On the minus, god, we are so far behind on some stuff, and even me helping out didn't get us back to baseline. At least between J & I we got the inbox cleared. That's something, I suppose.
It occurs to me that I do have a zoom meeting at 3, for the paid DM gig. It's an introductory session, trying to teach you how to make the most of the website. I figure it never hurts. And the site makes money when I make money, so they want the new DM's to succeed. I have next Friday open, so I may see if I can pull in a few players for a quick character creation game, with the follow up a few weeks later. Google Calendar is going to be my friend for this.
Aside from that, not much going on. Still waiting patiently to see if I get the email to do the next interview. I won't really believe it until it happens. I'll definitely be checking my email frequently today. I feel bad for M, because it doesn't sound like her interview went that well. At least, she didn't get quite the same feedback I did. Still, if one of us is going to move forward, I'd prefer it was me, obviously.
I have now gotten Dad up, emptied his colostomy bag (ew) and had my second cup of coffee. I'm as awake as I'm going to get, so I'm going to reread the module for tonight and piddle around online. Everyone have the best Friday!
