Sunshine, she's here, you can take a break
Monday time again. The one bonus to it being a Monday is that presumably our P&C people will be in, so there's a chance I'll get communication on the delayed interview. I'm not really expecting it, but it would be nice. I ran it by my former manager, since we're currently manager free, and he seemed to think maybe they overscheduled the manager who was supposed to do them. He thinks we'll be hearing back quickly, as soon as they have time to compare schedules and figure out when people are available. He also said he'd keep an ear out for me in his meetings, so hopefully, he'll get some dirt for me.
Not much going on today. I will be turning in my PTO slip for Disney, as it is six months to the day when we leave. But aside from that, not a whole lot going on work-wise. The markets will come in late, so I'll probably be helping out in Load Quality Reports, which I kind of hate, but they need to be done. I worked on them yesterday as well. They were up to nearly 30 reports, some from as far out as last Thursday. We got them down to 15, but we'll see how many came in overnight. It could be right back where we started.
Now we begin the countdowns to D&D. We have the Wednesday Frostmaiden game, which will definitely be chaotic and entertaining. Then, we move to the two new games. Second sessions--Straud on Friday and Lost Mine on Sunday.
I took off on Thursday, so I don't have to go into work, and I plan to spend them rereading the potential encounters and plot lines. I'm pretty solid on Lost Mine, just need to read up on the home base town a little more, so I know which rumors the party will pick up first day.
Strahd is different. It's pretty much a sandbox. I'll give them some plot hooks and see which ones they want to, pardon the pun, bite. I also have to introduce another character, so I'm going to be writing up a little backstory for how she got to Barovia.
Edited because I forgot to add about the character creation session I did yesterday for the Spelljammer one shots I'm playing in. It went very well. We're playing on D&D Beyond, and it was incredibly generous to me. I rolled stats, and I got nothing under an 11, and two 18s and a 17. I ended up lowering a couple of stats because it was just ridiculous. She has a 19 Wisdom and Charisma and an 18 constitution. I dropped her strength and intelligence down to 8+9 respectively because otherwise she was just too overpowered. As is, she's pretty damn OP, especially for a first level character. I decided to play an Aassimar Life Domain Cleric. Despite the healing tendencies of the domain and the race (which is semi angelic), she's a fighty cleric more than a healing cleric. She used to be a soldier, and is still sort of hung up on the martial side of her life. She's in service to the God Tempus, whose domain is war. Or as they put it on Skullsplitter dice: "Fights for the fight god, Tempus just loves fighting without any rhyme or reason." I think she'll be a lot of fun to play and will fit my normal style of being relatively quiet until it's fight time, and then causing optimal chaos.
But, for today, work that I don't really feel like doing, but I shall. Time for me to get myself together, I suppose. More coffee is required. Pants are also necessary. Okay, everyone have a very good Monday!
