And maybe I'll find out a way to make it back someday
Ugh, and today it's back to work. I'm on Delivery Updates again today, so I'll have something to do. I just don't feel like it. I slept for shit last night, which is rare after a game. I just couldn't seem to stay asleep. As sometimes happens I'm also overall achy which is kind of a chicken or the egg deal. Does sleeping poorly make me achy, or did I sleep crappy because I'm having random aches and pains?
Yesterday continued to be very quiet. Jess was working on a migraine all day, so we did very little. Around 1, we went to a local place that does grab and go food and picked up lunch. I love this place so much. You go in and pick up your cold entree, and then take it home and nuke it when you want it. The food is reasonably priced and very good. I went because they had both spinach and brie quiche and teriyaki shrimp over sesame noodles. Jess likes their Caribbean Jerk beef pie, so I got that, too. Also some crabby mac and cheese and citrus glazed salmon for my sister and father, which they both seemed happy with.
Then, we took a little nap before game time. Unfortunately, Jess felt like absolute dogshit by then, so they had to bow out and go back to bed. It was a relatively short game, clocking in at just under two and a half hours, so they didn't miss too much.
Our teenage superheroes in training found themselves back on patrol with their mentor the Chastiser. She guided them into a badly planned assault on the lair of Madame Hive, the bee-themed supervillain. They handily dispatched drones and captured Madame Hive, only to have a crew of robots show up, looking to kidnap our heroes in the name of Dr. Dastardly (who they thwarted in game one) They battled some seriously bad rolls, but managed to take out the robots.
The next day, they were told that their patrols were being stepped up, and they would be with SuperLad, who would be better able to protect them. Superlad turned out to have poor planning and be seriously up his own ass. He promptly got himself captured by the sorceress Candy Lane on Mr. Madness' secret helicarrier. The team tried to bargain with her to release SuperLad, but she was too busy trying to convince our heroes to join the winning team, promising that they didn't plan to hurt anyone. Eventually, tiring of her recruitment speech, they punched a hole in the now grounded helicarrier and started sinking it. Candy decided she really didn't need this shit, and let SuperLad go, in return for the heroes leaving her to patch the ship. As they left, they got a text update stating that Mr. Madness was running for Mayor, pointing out that Mayor Maverick isn't able to keep the villains or the superheroes under control. We left it there, with the teenagers trying to decide what they should do about the new development, and worried about their ethics test the next day.
And now, I should get myself ready for work. Ew. Have a good Sunday everyone!
