Ugh, it's Monday. Yesterday was busier than I thought, since I'd forgotten that it was my inbox day. Theoretically, I had someone helping, but in practice, that person is much slower than I am, and she left at noon, so mostly it was all me. At least I wasn't overly bored. There were some slow points, but whenever it go too slow, a few emails came in to take care of.

We cooked our first of the Good Chop meats! The salmon, baked with a dill mustard sauce, turned out really well. It was firm and a beautiful red/orange color. I'm used to kind of mushy salmon that you get from the grocery store, and the texture tends to put me off it. This was a really nice texture. It turned out really well! Even Jess and I enjoyed it! Tonight is boneless pork chops. I'm hoping that all the meat will be as good. The dill mustard sauce was also very good. I'm glad I decided to brave IKEA to get it.

Last night was the Witchlight game! First the group went to a local settlement. In return for freeing the children from Granny Nightshade's workhouse, they provided the party with a boat and guide to reach the treeant Little Oak and Will of the Feywild. It led them past the Wayward Pool, where only unicorns may pass.

Upon reaching the treant, they are treated with suspicion. Two members of the party have true seeing, and see that Will of the Feywild is not the preteen he appears to be, but is an oni, a type of evil demon. The fabulous drag queen bard confronts him, and he tells her that he has dreams of kidnapping children for Granny Nightshade, and her sisters cursing him to feel remorse for everything he's done.

He has a plan for how the characters can help him free the children, though it's convoluted, and relies on them taking Granny Nightshade down. Some of the other children think that they should go and talk to the unicorn at the lake. It may know more. They say that the magic is stupid, and if you tie a horn to your head, the magic will let you in.

The treant walks them to the pool, and they light the brazier to summon the unicorn. She doesn't have much information on Granny, but she drops some plot hooks for the larger quest of freeing the queen who was imprisoned by the hags. As they chat with the unicorn, they are beset by an assassin who wounds the unicorn! It teleports away, leaving the party to deal with him.

The druid entangles him, and the bard questions him. He drops some more plot hooks, that he is part of a group of power hungry miscreants. The bard is especially intimidating and charms him, and he agrees to stop his wicked ways.

The party decide that they're going to scout Granny Nightshade's lair, and the rogue is turned invisible, and heads into Loomlurch. She finds Granny, but manages to avoid getting in her line of sight.

We close there, with the ranger and druid preparing to go in and scout the goblin market.

As I've been typing, I have a kitty pressed against my thigh, purring. It is very sweet, and I love him. However, I need to get up and get some coffee, which will not make him very happy.

Have a good Monday, everyone! ENjoy your President's Day off if you have it!
