There are times that you feel you're part of the scenery
Oh thank goodness, it's Thursday. This week has felt very long. But it's almost over for me! It hasn't been a bad week, just kind of draggy.
Yesterday we had our Town Hall meeting, which was an hour and a half that felt like three hours. I really don't enjoy the "here's how awesome we are" meetings. I recognize that they need to happen, but they just annoy me. Most of the figures have already been sent piecemeal in email, so it's kind of a rehash. I guess they figure some people don't read their email? And I suppose I can understand wanting to update everyone on the whole returning to the office thing in person. But that could have been a half hour, really. By the time it was over, I had a massive headache. I'm not used to wearing the headset for long periods anymore, I suppose.
Next step is that at some point, we'll get our new equipment. A laptop and two monitors with a docking station. When we go back to work, we'll be expected to take the laptop with us, so that we don't have to set up a new computer every time we come in, since there's no assigned seating. Then, once that's accomplished, we'll be going back into the office one day per week, plus the occasional meeting. This is all supposed to take place before the end of April. Unfortunately, we won't get to pick the day that we go in, it'll be assigned, with the idea of getting as much of our team in together as possible.
I'm not thrilled, but it's less time in the office than I was afraid of. I was expecting two to three days, so all in all, I'll deal. When the time comes, I'll buy more of the good masks, and be ready.
Today, I shall do the markets that of course came in late yesterday, and then sit and twiddle my thumbs. The biggest market came in early, so I got that done. Now it's just mop up, unless one of them has massively fucked up. Since one of those is Boston, there's a non-zero chance of this. Last week, they lost seven big orders. Just lost. They received them, but somehow in the warehouse they just...disappeared.
We're supposed to have a little bit of snow this weekend, but not much. This is good, as my boots seem stuck in shipping. I found a pair I liked from OneStopPlus, and hope that they'll fit. I have really wide feet and high insteps, so it can be a challenge. I really like these, so I'm really hoping they work.
Okay, I guess it's time to start getting myself together. Have a good Thursday, y'all!
