All the vampires walkin' through the valley
Good morning! It's Wednesday! Which means I am starting on the down slope of my week. Two more days to go.
I've got my "Town Hall meeting" today, but I think I know everything that they're going to tell me. Back to work one day a week, getting new equipment, but will have to carry the laptop back and forth, etc. Honestly, it probably could have been an email, but I feel that way about most meetings. Then again, I know a lot of people don't check their email like I do, so maybe it needs to be done like this to get the word out. Apparently, they're making a big push to get everyone to upload their vaccination status. If we haven't reported yes or no by 2/9, they're planning a round of terminations. Needless to say, I've reported every dose, well before they required it. I assume they'll also remind us that IKEA is not the federal government, and if you need to quarantine, you better be gone for 10 days, which I appreciate.
We also have a team huddle, where we're going to be officially handed off to our new managers. This should be chaos. No one wants to leave current manager. I'm not looking forward to it, but I'm resigned. This will be my 14th manager in 5 years. I'm sure she's very nice, and I look forward to getting to know her, but she won't be current manager.
Roll20 informs me that there is three days until our Monster of the Week game. This makes me happy. There are also three days until Yoda gets his day of beauty, which is badly needed. With the holidays, the groomer was backed up, and so it's been like three months since his last grooming. He's a shaggy mess. He's not a big fan of being brushed, and won't let us around his face at all, so it's not pretty. His groomer is a fucking miracle worker. He'll come back all sleek and handsome and smelling like Axe body spray. (Not a huge fan of the shampoo smell, gotta say.)
