A seven-foot frame, rats along his back
Morning seemed very early today. I was awake at 5:30, but totally uninterested in getting up when my alarm went off. I did, but I didn't like it. And now I'm upright and have had my first cup of coffee, and I am not any happier about it.
My markets didn't come in until late yesterday and we had a team meeting, so I at least have things to do this morning. They won't take long, but at least it's something. I'm not feeling horribly motivated, so maybe I'll take my time on them and make them last longer. Probably not--I don't have that kind of patience.
So, our team lost a manager about two months ago (not my manager) and we were given two new managers. I found out yesterday that they're splitting the team, and I will have a new manager. I am not happy. I really connected with my manager well, and I like him. The new person seems nice enough, but she's not him. He's been such a cheerleader for me, and I really appreciate it. So, that sucked. Annoyingly, coworker J. gets to keep the same manager, so I am very envious. It softened the blow that apparently the only reason is that they were picking in turns, and the new manager's turn was before my current managers. So I wasn't the last kid picked on the playground at least.
Aside from a brief burst of productivity in the morning, there wasn't much going on yesterday. We had a team meeting that was blessedly mostly free of complaining. Maybe they were being on best behavior for the new managers.
Today, there will be much bitching, though. We're getting a one-time gift from the company, but because it's a separate check, it's taxed all to hell. It's not much, but it's money I didn't have otherwise. My pay raise is also kicking in this week, so that'll be about $40 more a check, which will be very nice.
All in all, things are quiet, really. Not a whole lot going on.
So, everyone have a good Wednesday!
