It's just another day, there's murder in the air.
I need a nap. I did not want to get out of bed this morning. I was up at 4:30, hit the bathroom and then came back and dozed. My alarm going off at 6:30 was an unwelcome intruder.
Jess is awesome, y'all. They got me the Tower of Nero ebook from the library, so I don't have to wait for a time to listen to the audiobook. Since I was having trouble getting a few moments to listen, this is a good thing, and will let me enjoy the book immensely. It's the swansong of the book series that begun with Percy Jackson and the Olympians, and I want to devour it whole. I've enjoyed the hell out of those books, even if they weren't targeted to me.
Today, I go in a couple of hours late to work, so I can pick up my prescription for Ambien from the doctor and drop it at Safeway. I'll pick it up after work, so I will have my pills for the next three months. I do not do well without my sleepy pills. As it is, some nights I still have sleep anxiety, and have trouble falling asleep. Without them, it would be a shitshow.
The project that got dropped on me is neverending, boring as hell, and just painful all around. I managed to get about 40 done yesterday. Assuming both of us can manage that every day, it's going to take us about 8 days. We've done two days. I don't want another 6 days, but I'm going to do it, because it needs to be done.
I'm torn on what to do for the next MotW (Monster of the Week) session. I mean, I have another week and a half to work on it, but I like to over prepare, so I better get cracking. Three more days to the Russian Festival and tasty food. Two more days to payday!
It seems like yesterdays Rusty Quill Gaming was a heartwrenching episode, which ended on a cliffhanger. I think I will wait the four weeks (because Halloween special 3 part episode) until the follow up episode is out, so I can listen to it all in one swoop. I love their DM (and head of Rusty Quill, which produces several podcasts, including the Magnus Archives, which I highly recommend.), but Alex can be particularly brutal at times. As they say on the podcast when he's being particularly mean: "But we respect his craft."
Rusty Quill Gaming was my entrance into actual play podcasts, and it holds a special place in my heart. I love the Adventure Zone, but RQG will always be my favorite. The Adventure Zone might make me laugh more. RQG makes me feel. I've cried over these fictional characters, and laughed and lived with them, and that makes it special.
