Whee!
Had a blast gaming last night. As expected, I'd over prepared a bit, and ended up paring it down on the fly. It still ran about 3 hours, which is about what I'd hoped for. They all want to play again! So, we set it for 2 weeks, so I'll have to come up with another mystery for them. Everyone seemed to have a good time, which was the aim. I enjoyed GMing, which is always a secondary aim.
Today, I am still having a happy from a successful game, and so is Jess, so I don't feel so silly about it. I'd forgotten how much I love role playing games. And this is a small, self selecting group of people, since it was set up post-Con.txt, so they're all fen, and thus there's not a pile of potential bullshit to wade through. Everyone is pretty much of the same mindset, and no one hogged attention.
Back to work today, so we'll see how well my happy stands up to my Chicago market. Since I was off Thursday, I doubt it's been worked since, so they've had time to fuck up even more. Ah well, I will deal. Portland is probably not great, thanks to the fires, but they'll at least do it in an orderly fashion.
Aside from that, it'll just be reschedules all day, unless something came in during my days off that requires attention. The other co-worker who gets hit up for all the special projects is out today, so if there's something to be done, it'll probably be me. Which is fine, I like being helpful.
For now though, I shall have more coffee and chill out until 10:00am.
