See and the thing is, I look at this as more of...an intervention. If you see your loved one going down a dark and destructive path...don't you step in and try to intervene? Isn't that exactly what an intervention is?

I also agree with nilchance; no one said this is or should be an ideal situation. Jeff--or anybody else--isn't going to do the ideal thing and they're not going to do the ideal thing 100% of the time. If I came home and found The Roommate half-dead and possibly suicidal...you'd better BELIEVE I'd read him the riot act before I calmed down and could be more rational about it. Man. Sure would.
