Now I've done my best, I know it wasn't much
I have possibly the most cliche earworm of a song stuck in my brain. So, of course I had to use it for my subject line. That's how I end up doing most of my post titles, honestly. It's rare that I go look at my Amazon Music account and pick at random--usually, it's whatever song is stuck as my internal playlist. Do other people have that? A song that gets stuck at random in your brain for a day or two before giving way to something else? Or is that just a special thing my brain likes to do to me?
Yesterday was errand day. I got myself together early and went to the Amish Market, because I realized that I hadn't taken anything out for dinner, and therefore, if I was cooking, we needed food that wasn't frozen. I ended up getting a bacon wrapped stuffed pork roast and some stuffed peppers. The roast turned out amazing. The bacon on top was crispy, the stuffing was tasty and the pork had absorbed some of the smoky flavor or the bacon. The only thing I'd do different was to get a roasting rack and put the roast on that, so that the bacon underneath will be a little crisper. I was impressed that there wasn't any leftovers at all. We ate that roast down to the last shred of bacon. The peppers are for tonight, but they look amazing.
Then it was back home for Dad's five minute telehealth appointment with his primary care. We have to do it monthly, so that he can get his pain pills. I'm grateful we can do virtual appointments. Of course, the doctor was running about half an hour late, so that's always fun.
Once that was done, it was time to do the bulk of my errands, first to work to get our holiday present gift card, then to pick up Dad's prescription, then to the post office. All were accomplished with ease, and were all in the same area, so that was good. I picked up stamps, and sat there stamping all my cards and putting them directly in the drop box, so all of my holiday cards have been sent!
Then, it was back and a brief break before starting the roast. While that was cooking, I ended up running up to get gloves for Dad's ostomy, and was back in time to start carving the roast for dinner. Dad actually deigned to eat what we did, and ate pretty much all the pork I gave him. Didn't eat much of the stuffing, but whatever.
Today we have Monster of the Week, which is always fun, and maybe a stop at Petco to pick up some more Nutrical for Sam. We're going to fatten this little shit up if it kills us. Shelly was making some noise about sending us up for another pork roast, but I think that'll wait.
Anyhow, everyone have a great Saturday! Here's hoping you're able to do something fun and nice for yourself!
