That you're the antidote to everything except for me
I blame todays lyric on the damned Applebee's commercial with this song. Nothing like minding your own business and Fall Out Boy jumping out at you. Of course, that meant that the rest of the night, I was sitting there singing "Light em up, up, up" under my breath.
Third day off, third day up by 6:30. I am not enjoying this a bit. I'd like to sleep in til at least 7:30, but no. My sleep cycle is broken. Oh well, at least I've been able to go to bed early, so I'm getting a little sleep. Tomorrow morning, I will doubtless want to stay in bed.
Yesterday was pretty productive. We had sushi and managed to watch the Final of the Great British Bake Off. I would have been pleased with whoever won, but I was really glad with who got it. (I had been spoiled by twitter earlier in the week, so it wasn't surprise.) But it was sad that we're only going to have the Holiday's to look forward to, and then nothing til next year.
Then, in the evening, we drove downtown to Fogo de Chao for a nice meal courtesy of my bonus. Fortunately, they had curbside pickup, so we just had to sit there and wait for the nice waiter to bring out our buttload of food. Jess and my sister got the 8oz filet, which seemed huge. Dad Chose the salmon, and I got the 1lb ribeye which was way too much for me. In addition it came with tomato and mozzarella caprese, mashed potatoes and asparagus. Plus two bottles of wine. And of course, the delicious little cheesy popover rolls, the pao de queso. We managed to devour all of those, of course. Oh, also deserts. Enormous pieces of cheesecake and their chocolate brigaddero cake. All in all, it was a really nice meal, and I enjoyed it a great deal.
Today is errand day. I need to go to the mall to pick up two new shirts I ordered from Torrid. With return to the office looming, I want to look nice when I go back--befitting of a manager. Hope springs eternal. Then, it's off to Walmart to pick up some groceries. Then, a trip to the dispensary, and then we should be done. I'm not looking forward to the mall or Walmart, because it is going to be bugfuck, and I know it. But so much was on sale for 50% off that I couldn't really not do it. I'm hoping if I go early it won't be too bad. At least Walmart's just a pick up-I don't have to go in the store.
I was going to go to the Amish Market, but I think that's going to wait. We have too much else to do, and I feel like adding another potentially crazy stop will be too much. Then, it'll be back home to relax and maybe watch a little more Hawkeye.
I actually got dressed yesterday. Wore jeans and all. It was a little weird, but nice to actually wear clothes other than leggings. I felt like I looked cute. I may have to do that more often. It gave my mental health a little boost.
Tomorrow, it's back to work. My coworker is still off until Tuesday, so I'll be doing a ton of markets which I don't mind, but I'm not really looking forward to, either.
Okay, I am going to go get some more coffee now, and think about the merits of putting on clothing of some sort. Everyone have a lovely Saturday!
