So happy Christmas, I love you baby, I can see a better time when all our dreams come true
Merry Christmas to all who celebrate! Happy Wednesday otherwise!
It's 6am because the cat insisted, and I have "wrapped" my sister's gift. For a certain value of wrapping. I put it in an amazon box with tissue paper and made a tissue paper bow and laid it on top. It's not fancy, but she knows what she's getting. Thus begins our laid back Christmas. We're going to take it easy this morning, and just kinda have coffee and presents, and then around 11:15, we'll go to the Mint Leaf in Hunt Valley for the Grand Buffet of Indian food. Then back to put on the prime rib, then game, then eat, then bed.
I'd seen the SNL Hozier video earlier in the week, and wanted to put it up, but when I went looking for it, I was surprised to see that there was controversy about switching out a slur. Honestly, I'm glad he did, because otherwise, I wouldn't have been able to link it here. Also, it was always one of the things that kept me from liking the original. But this version, I like a lot.
Yesterday was utterly dead at work. I mean, just dead. I had maybe 7 calls? They finally started offering to let us leave early around 1. I jumped at that offer, because I was bored.
Choose 20 books that have stayed with you or influenced you. One book per day for 20 days, in no particular order. No explanations, no reviews, just covers.

I have been on a bit of a book binge. I finished Sin and Chocolate by KF Breene. It was a fun read, and I'll definitely be back to check out more. Next up is The Ripper Affair by Lilith Saintcrow, which is a reread. I'm running a NYE game that is set in that world, so I wanted to reread the books.
I'm actually really excited about the NYE game. It's set in a steampunk and magic world in late Victorian England. The early part of the century was rife with magic, and sorcerers and Sherlock Holmesian genuises. But now that's faded. The sorcerers were mostly wiped out when they failed to save the Queen's consort, and magic is kind of not the in thing. It's still used by the lower class in the making of the gleaming clockwork horses, and the Alterations that men will have done to become part clockwork, but overall, the higher class no longer associate with it. Into this, you can dump any of the famous monster stories. Dorian Grey, Jeckell and Hyde, even Dracula was set in this era. I'm very much looking forward to playing in it and seeing what my players make of it. Hopefully, it'll be a fun way to ring in the new year.
For now, though, the cat is yelling at me, so I'm going to go see what she wants, and maybe take a shower so I'm presentable for the "Grand Buffet." I'll be the judge of how grand it is.
Everyone have an excellent Wednesday or Christmas!
