Why is it only Wednesday? It feels like it should definitely be Thursday already. Of course, yesterday, I thought it was Wednesday and was very sad to realize that it wasn't. The week feels like it's going too slowly.
Another day of storms today as the artist formerly known as Tropical Storm Fred moves through the area. Poor Yoda will spend most of the day under my sister's bed, as he does not like thunder. Truth, neither do I. Even as a grown up, storms freak me out a little. Especially storms that could spawn tornadoes. I'm in the "damn nature, you scary as fuck," camp.
Maryland's positivity rate is creeping up towards 5% again, but our governor doesn't seem disposed to do anything about it. A mask mandate would be nice. When I went to the grocery store to get Dad's pills, I was amazed at the number of people who weren't. Most of them were middle-aged to elderly men, too. Not the people who should be taking risks.
Apparently, they're going to announce a third dose of the Covid vaccine today. 8 months after the second shot, which would put me in December. Happy Birthday to me. I'll admit, I had such a shitty reaction to the second shot that it worries me a bit, but I'll just plan to take a few days off from work afterwards, and lay in some ginger ale for the nausea and coke for the caffeine.
43 days til vacation. I continue to be a little obsessive about it. I'm just really looking forward to being out of the house for a few days. Howl-O-Scream is just a bonus, really. Continuing my trend of overthinking, I've been watching videos of the 2019 walkthroughs to get an idea of what it's like now. It looks like a lot of fun. As per their tradition, they've held over a few haunted houses, and then added a couple of new ones. They also have scare zones, with actors walking around, being interactive and menacing. Plus a roving chainsaw mob. This doesn't start until six, so we'll have from park open til then to do some rides. Roller coasters!
