I am you from much later in your life
Yesterday was a boring day at work. I finished my NDRs and worked delivery updates all fricking day. I don't mind doing them, and there's something to be said for finishing a list of them and feeling accomplished, but overall, it's just mindless busywork. Ah well, at least I didn't have to pull them and work them. My coworker is back from vacation, so I'm released from the burden. Though the coworker who does the updates on the Thurs-Sun rotation thinks she'll probably try to get me to do them part time, because she isn't a fan. I'd be okay with that, as long as she plans to do my markets those days. It'd be nice if I could come in early on those days, too.
I'm getting tired of the post Covid food issues. On Monday, beef tasted bad, too. It wasn't as bad as chicken or pork, but it still was annoying. It seems like it has to be covered in some sort of strong-smelling sauce for me to ignore the taste issues. Shrimp, crab, lobster and some mollusks continue to taste fine. I wish I liked fish more, but I'm pretty much just a shellfish girl. I'm not even a fan of salmon 99.9% of the time, which is the least offensive fish. (I did like sea bass when I had it at Bonefish Grill, but that's so bad environmentally that I just can't do it again.)
So, the fall out of the storming of the Capitol building is...minimal. Five dead, and it seems like the FBI is doing some performative looking for suspects, but despite the fact that they practically Instagrammed themselves doing it, I'm not really expecting much. And now, I've seen a post going around saying they'll be back on the 19th, which does not inspire confidence. Got into a debate at work over how culpable the police were. (I know, I'm an idiot.) My stance was "very," in case you were wondering. Selfies, for fuck's sake.
In other news, I think I've got the first chapter of modules together. I started reading through the rest, just for basic knowledge. They do not fuck around on the monster front, especially in later chapters. On the plus side for my band of murder muppets, that also means more loot. I am going to have to consider including some bags of holding for them. It's a lot of treasure to carry as is.
